Background

Stopsley Striders are an inclusive running club. We were formed in 1982 by local international athlete Tony Simmons. 2022 is our 40th Anniversary and we now have a membership of around 200.

Our Philosophy:

To keep running fun and enjoy ourselves.

Our mission:

We support everyone of all abilities to achieve their running goals from beginners, with our annual beginner’s course, to ultra-marathon runners.
We hold regular social events where members meet in a relaxed atmosphere.
We provide training sessions run by qualified coaches to help you improve your performance and achieve your goals.
We are a diverse running club who welcomes everyone, regardless of age, race, sex, religion and sexuality.
We actively support the progress of our members via social media, as well as monthly and annual awards.
