Mental Health – #RunAndTalk

Stopsley Striders are part of the England Athletics #RunandTalk programme.

We hold regular events to support our members with their mental health as running can be a vital ingredient in supporting good mental health. We held a recent event where some of our members went for a run and then enjoyed breakfast at one of our local business supporters Old Skool Pantry in Round Green.

The #RunAndTalk programme aims to:

– get people talking about mental health, sharing their experiences and removing stigma.

– provide support and guidance to raise awareness of mental health problems.

– support people experiencing mental health problems to be physically active through running, whether that is to support them in starting, returning to or continuing to run.

Please see #RunAndTalk – Athletics & Running (englandathletics.org) for more information on #RunandTalk or speak to Kate Mutter, our Mental Health Champion, or Thom Darby or Nichola Abubacker, our Welfare Officers, for more information on all matters mental health.
