Action for Children

Hi Striders,

Last November, when I was lucky enough to become Striders fundraiser, one of my main goals was to keep the FUN in fundraising, I really didn’t want it to be one continuous ask for money. Everything we did was aimed to be inclusive, affordable and definitely fun.

At the time, we were all isolated, so we included events and ideas to bring Striders together, even if only virtually, with various lockdown Bingos, zoom socials and scavenger hunts. I hope you agree that we achieved this.

Our biggest fund raiser, until bingo, was the Stopsley Treasure Trail, at £535. It fitted in to the walks permitted under the restrictions at the time, and hopefully gave people an opportunity to discover more about the local area and history, as they solved the clues.

The funds raised by the two treasure trails, raffles, book sales, club races, bingo and your various generous donations, have made a magnificent total of ………. drum roll ………..

£3,446.28, THANK YOU!

The Committee have generously topped this amount up to £3,600!!!!

This will make a huge difference to so many children and families, and the charity are extremely grateful.

Thank you to all you Super Stopsley Striders, the Committee and each and every one of you who have supported, encouraged and helped us make fundraising fun, you’re amazing.

Thank you to Jenny, Katicia ,Tom, James, Rachel & Danny for all your support and help, you’ve all been fab.

Special thanks to Amanda for everything, I certainly couldn’t have done it without you and I wouldn’t have wanted to either.

Wishing Hilary every success with Hospice at Home, I know she’s in good hands with Striders supporting her.
