December 2019 Running Report

It has been a busy month the last of the Bedfordshire County AAA races, two Three Counties Cross Country Races. The training for Marathon is starting.
At the Wooton Half Marathon incorporating the Bedfordshire AAA, 8 Striders competed, Philip Davies 1:29:47, Gez Fallon 1:32:20, Pat Blessing 1:34:56, Andrew Durrant 1:48:12, Stewart Read 1:53:38, Kulwinder Assra 2:11:06, Valerie Dawson 2:13:26, and Evelyn Lutterodt 2:14:02.
It was the Everest Marathon Richard Hardy did his trip of a life time to compete. He finished 8th Overall, 6th male. Richard also ran the fastest time for an over 60 in 7 hours and 6 minutes. Beating the record by 54 minutes. It was a 4 week trip to climatize to even be allowed to start the race. His story is on Stopsley Striders page.
It was the third of the Three Counties Cross Country at Wootton. 32 Striders completed. Men 12th. Women 11th. Overall 11th.
It was the fourth Three Counties Cross Country at Standalone Farm. 33 Striders completed. Men 11th. Women 11th. Overall 12th.
At the Buntingford 10 a great way to run off the Christmas celebrations. 4 Striders competed. I ran 1:07:43 1st V 35. Thomas Darby 1:20:58 7 minutes and 20 seconds quicker than last year and fastest time since 2015 when started running it. Amanda Rankin 1:58:09 and Liz Evans 1:58:09 not a Pb but very happy to run under 2 hours. At the Cambridge 10km 11 Striders competed. Congratulations to all Striders not mentioned but competed in December. Please remember to fill in the race sheet with your achievements as a new year begins it all gets record for 2020 awards. Also remember keep an eye on Age Grading it’s a great award to get.
